Browser help · sound & playback

Let’s bring the sound back.

Start with the checks below if the web drawing player is silent. These instructions describe our browser implementation; the planned native apps may behave differently.

Try the web player ↗

Check the drawing and press Play

  1. Make sure the canvas contains at least one line or dot. A blank drawing has nothing to play; New inspiration gives you a starting example.
  2. Tap or click Play yourself. The player initializes audio after a user interaction rather than playing automatically on page load.
  3. Wait for the playhead to reach the marks. A drawing near the right edge will not sound immediately after playback begins.

Check where the sound is going

Raise the device media volume, check any browser tab mute setting and confirm the selected output. Bluetooth headphones or a connected speaker may be receiving audio. On desktop, also check the player’s volume slider.

After switching tabs or apps

The web player stops when the page is hidden. Return to it and press Play again. This is expected behavior, not a lost drawing or a broken loop.

Try a fresh browser session

Save your project before refreshing or changing browser settings. Try an up-to-date browser with JavaScript enabled. If you opened the link inside another app, try opening it directly in your browser. We have not verified every phone or embedded browser.

A few more answers.

Will clearing browser data fix audio?

It can also erase the local drawing. Download a project before changing storage settings. Check volume, output and the Play button first.

Is sound supposed to continue in the background?

No. This web implementation stops playback when the page becomes hidden.
